Cody Ceci won’t have to look very far for familiar faces when he makes his pro debut this weekend. One quick glance around the Binghamton Senators’ dressing room Thursday morning before practice and Ceci might even think he’s back playing for the Ottawa 67’s, what with former teammates Shane Prince and Corey Cowick there. No sooner had Ceci’s junior career finished with the Owen Sound Attack Sunday than Ottawa Senators director of player development Randy Lee was on the phone telling the Senators’ 15th overall pick in 2012 to report to Binghamton for the stretch drive and the playoffs. Ceci and winger Matt Puempel, the Senators’ 24th overall pick in 2011, will join the B-Sens as they close out the regular season this weekend with home games Friday and Saturday against the Manchester Monarchs and Hershey Bears, followed by a road game in Syracuse Sunday against the Crunch. The former 67’s captain had his exit meeting with the Attack Tuesday, drove home to his parents’ house in Orléans Tuesday night, and re-packed his car Wednesday morning to head south on Interstate-81. “It should be pretty exciting,” said Ceci. “I saw where a lot of other guys were heading to their AHL teams after their junior teams finished and I knew that Binghamton was going to the playoffs. “So once it was over (in Owen Sound), I was kind of waiting for the opportunity.”
