Carlos Santana was removed for a pinch hitter in the ninth because of tightness in his right side near the back. "Carlos had some back tightness," manager Manny Acta said. "He tested OK according to our medical staff, but we won't know until he shows up tomorrow if he can play." Santana said he felt it on a swing in the sixth inning. "It was my last at-bat," he said. "One swing, and I felt it on my right side." Lonnie Chisenhall pinch hit for Santana and led off the ninth with a single.
