After playing in just 127 games last year because of injuries — chiefly a strained right wrist that landed him on the disabled list — Carlos Gonzalez hoped he would be healthy throughout the 2012 season. It hasn't quite worked out that way. Although the left fielder has avoided the DL this season, lingering left hamstring tightness kept him out of Friday night's game and will likely bench him for a few more games. "I wanted to play the whole year without getting hurt," Gonzalez said. "It was one of my goals, especially coming off last year when I battled almost the whole second half with my wrist injury. I really want to finish what I started." Gonzalez, hitting .304 with 22 homers and 85 RBIs, plans to get back on the field before the season ends Oct. 3, but first he has to get healthy. "It's frustrating, because I want to play, but I don't feel like I should with what I have right now," he said. "Of course, if I feel good tomorrow, I will walk into the manager's office and say I'm ready to play today."
