The only way the final weeks of Cardinals safety Budda Baker’s rookie season could improve is if this wasn’t the final week of the Cardinals season. A week ago, Baker was selected to the Pro Bowl on special teams. On Tuesday, he traveled across town to watch his alma mater, Washington, practice for the the PlayStation Fiesta Bowl. And on Sunday, he will finish the year playing in his hometown of Seattle against the Seahawks. “Any time you get to be back home and play in front of your family and friends, especially when a lot of them are Seahawk fans, it’s definitely going to be fun,” Baker said. Baker is from Bellevue, Wash., about a 15-minute drive from CenturyLink Field, where the Seahawks play. But growing up, he was more a fan of individual players, guys like former Ravens safety Ed Reed, than the home team, and Sunday’s game will be just the second one he’s witnessed at CenturyLink Stadium. Baker has been a big deal in the Seattle area since he entered Bellevue High. The Wolverines won three state football titles while Baker was playing, and he also excelled as a sprinter in track.
