Arizona Cardinals linebacker Daryl Washington messed up a couple of times this past offseason. Some mistake (but not a positive drug test) led him to be suspended under the NFL Policy for Substance Abuse led him to be suspended for the first four games of the season. He was arrested and has a pending court case for domestic abuse. He went to New York on Monday attempting to get his suspension reduced but as Kent Somers reported his appeal was denied and he will be unable to play the first four games of the regular season. The suspension under the league's substance abuse rules could be just the beginning. While there have been no reports of any action by the league his arrest for domestic abuse could definitely be cause for the NFL to suspend him under the personal conduct policy.
