The Capitals recalled defenseman Dmitry Orlov from the American Hockey League’s Hershey Bears Monday and he will join the team in Pittsburgh. Already without Mike Green (groin), John Erskine (left hand/wrist) and Tomas Kundratek (right leg/knee) Washington’s defense suffered another blow Sunday against the Buffalo Sabres. Tom Poti didn’t finish the game after aggravating a back injury in the second period, necessitating Orlov’s recall from Hershey. Orlov, 21, missed three months this season with a concussion and has only played four AHL games since returning to game action. He has recorded three assists in that span.
