Henrik Sedin is the latest star to pull out of the Sochi Olympics. The Vancouver Canucks star confirmed reports out of Sweden that he has not been medically cleared and will not join his brother Daniel and the rest of Team Sweden at next week's Olympics. Mikael Backlund of the Calgary Flames will reportedly replace Sedin. The former Hart Trophy winner recently missed six games with bruised ribs he incurred during a January 17 game with the Phoenix Coyotes when he was crosschecked by Martin Hanzal. Sedin returned to action on Monday night against the Boston Bruins and played again on Tuesday night against the Detroit Red Wings, but did not register a shot on goal in either. The Canucks had already announced plans to pull Sedin from the Canucks' remaining two games before the Olympic break, Thursday night against the Montreal Canadiens and Saturday night's visit to Toronto for a game with the Maple Leafs.
