Mason Raymond went into the second intermission having hit the net just once Saturday. Unfortunately, his shot was off Roberto Luongo's head in his pregame warmup. Luongo may have shaken it off and been physically fine. He didn't play like it. Luongo gave up up three goals on five shots in 5:10, crumpling for the first time in a long time. Before the game Luongo joked he wasn't concerned about going up against Ryan Miller, as much as he was concerned about facing the Sabres "other superstar." That would be one Cody Hodgson, the player the Canucks traded Monday, upsetting a sizable portion of the local fanbase. But Hodgson was inconsequential Saturday and his storyline fizzled. Sodid Luongo. Too bad, he wasted a tremendous performance by the Canucks second line which took off, and scored two goals once Zack Kassian replaced Mason Raymond.
