Brandon Meriweather is the X factor for the Washington Redskins on the defensive side of the ball. He played a little over a half last year but he made quite an impression in that Week 11 game against the Eagles. “He didn’t play a lot the year before and he only played 45 snaps last year” defensive coordinator Jim Haslett said. “In 45 snaps he had 8 tackles [and] an interception. You know he’s done pretty good so he’s one of the key guys we’ve got to get healthy and we’d like to have him out there.” All most Redskins fans know of Meriweather is last year and based on that it would be easy to hit him with the “injury prone” tag. A preseason knee injury was almost healed until he aggravated it just before the season opener. He was ready to go in Week 4 but a fluke collision with receiver Aldrick Robinson during pregame warmups set him back again. Then his Week 11 debut was cut short when he tore his ACL in the third quarter.
