Captain Ryan Callahan, along with struggling center Brad Richards, were the two players coach John Tortorella called out by name after Wednesday’s practice as examples of those who needed to play better. But Callahan, who scored his fourth goal of the season and added the Rangers’ only successful shootout attempt while compiling four hits and three shots in 24:52, said he doesn’t need Tortorella to know he needs to produce more. "I don’t need that to motivate me," Callahan said. "I’m harder on myself than he can be or anybody can be. I need to be better." Meanwhile, Richards had two shots and no points in 18:39. No word D Michael Del Zotto left the game and, after a short spell being attended to on the Rangers’ bench, headed to the dressing room after taking a heavy hit from Senators D Marc Methot at 10:37 of the third period. There was no immediate update on Del Zotto, who was a minus-1 in 17:16 of ice time. The Rangers do not practice today so there likely won’t be an update until Saturday.
