The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are looking for their new starting quarterback this offseason after the retirement of legendary quarterback Tom Brady this year. The team moved one step closer in that process this week by officially signing former No. 1 overall pick Baker Mayfield. But even though they’re bringing him in, it doesn’t sound like they’re just handing him the starting role.

In a press release on Friday morning, Tampa Bay Buccaneers General Manager Jason Licht said that Mayfield will “compete for the starting job.”
