According to the Athletic’s Greg Auman, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are expected to sign QB Blaine Gabbert as a backup in the next 24 hours.

It’s worth mentioning that signing Gabbert to a contract won’t affect the team’s compensatory picks, as Gabbert was released by the Titans.

Gabbert, 29, is a former first-round pick of the Jaguars back in 2010. After three years in Jacksonville, he was traded to the 49ers in return for a sixth-round pick back in March of 2014.
