Bryan Bresee’s tracked steadily as the No. 1 prospect in the Top247 for years, and the industry is starting to catch up to that sentiment. Bresee on Tuesday jumped to No. 1 overall in the updated 247Sports Composite rankings, marking Bresee as the clear top dog in the 2020 class entering his senior season.

The Clemson commit previously ranked No. 2 in the 247Sports Composite behind uncommitted South Carolina prospect Jordan Burch. But Bresee and Burch flipped places in the composite with Rivals’ updated rankings.

Bresee is a 6-foot-5, 290-pound freak at defensive tackle with the testing numbers to match that label.

The Maryland native runs a 4.8-second 40-yard dash along with a 32-inch vertical and an absurd 4.13-second 20-yard shuttle. Keep in mind that shuttle is faster than Nick Bosa’s 4.14 at this year’s NFL Combine, and Bosa had the fastest time among all defensive linemen – not counting EDGE players. More impressively, only one running back at the NFL Combine (Alex Barnes) posted faster than a 4.13 shuttle. Remember, Bresee is 290 pounds!
