Jay Bruce is in one of those zones. Hang a pitch to him, and it's gone. Groove a fastball, and it's going to the wall. Bruce is 10-for-21 (.476) with five home runs and 12 RBI in his last six games and has homered in a career-high four straight games. He's one shy of tying the Reds record for homers in consecutive games. Times like these show what great potential Bruce has. Potential is not a word often thrown around with a player in his fifth year in the big leagues. But Bruce is 25. The Reds' two rookies in the lineup – Zack Cozart (27) and Todd Frazier (26) – are older than Bruce.
