Browns general manager Andrew Berry would love to re-sign receiver Rashard Higgins, but knows he could hit the market on March 17.

“I will not touch on the specific dialogue we have had, but suffice it to say, we’d like to have Rashard back,’' Berry said on a Zoom conference Wednesday. “He obviously played a key role for us this past year and we have a really positive history with him. Free agency can be difficult, and obviously he’s earned the right to make the decision that’s most appropriate for him.’'

Higgins told cleveland.com last week that he hasn’t seen an offer yet, but that’s largely because the salary cap hasn’t yet been determined. The problem is, spotrac.com estimates Higgins’ market value at about $6 million a year, which is $5 million more than the Browns paid him last season.
