Martin Brodeur earned the win yesterday in New Jersey’s 6-1 thrashing of the New York Islanders. It also may have been his last game as a member of the Devils. Brodeur says he’s hoping to play more, but understands that won’t likely happen as long as Cory Schneider is playing as well as he is in front of him, as Tom Gulitti of Fire & Ice shares. “If I would agree (to) it, it would be a position to get more ice time,” he said of a possible trade. “I feel really good and I think (today’s game) kind of helped me out to see the way I was playing and the feeling was today that I’ve still got a lot left in me and if I need to play somewhere else next year, I need to make some decisions.” If going elsewhere is on his plate, one team that’s showing interest in him is the Minnesota Wild.
