San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch provided multiple injury updates during the team's year-end press conference Tuesday, among them news that linebacker Brock Coyle underwent shoulder surgery earlier in the day. Coyle, who started 10 games for the 49ers in 2017 and had 64 tackles and a forced fumble, is expected to miss 5-6 months due to the surgery. "Brock Coyle's actually having surgery today, a labrum deal in his shoulder," Lynch said. "We didn't get a call yet that it's finished, but he was in there this morning." The injury doesn't come at a good time for Coyle, who is slated for free agency once the 2018 league year gets underway. Coyle was signed by the 49ers to a one-year deal during the 2017 offseason.
