Josh Rosen is trying to surpass Ryan Fitzpatrick on the Miami Dolphins’ quarterback depth chart and making progress in that regard.

Rosen was given the opportunity to take reps with the Dolphins’ first-team offense during the week and got the start in Friday’s preseason game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The former No. 10 overall pick went 10/18 for 102 yards, which head coach Brian Flores considered to be a positive sign. However, Flores pointed out that Rosen’s three sacks taken were problematic.

On Wednesday, Flores said Rosen was trending in the right direction.
