Jake Peavy believes his right rotator cuff tendinitis in March and some discomfort from scar tissue last month actually might have been beneficial to his long-term health. "I'm certainly way better than I was," said Peavy, who is scheduled to make his 2011 Sox debut Wednesday night against the Angels. "I feel quite a bit better now than I did in spring training. "Even as close as we got there, I'm certainly glad we had those setbacks. I'm a couple of months down the road and feel stronger than I did back then. I feel more in control." Peavy will throw a bullpen session before Sunday's game in what will be his final test and could cap a remarkable comeback from a detached latissimus dorsi muscle suffered July 6. It was expected to take at least 12 months before he could return to the majors.
