Dansby Swanson was upset after Atlanta Braves fans shouted expletives and threw bottles on the field following a controversial ninth-inning play against the Philadelphia Phillies during Sunday's game.
Spectators at Truist Park were angry when the Phillies recorded the eventual game-winning run after Alec Bohm scored on a sacrifice fly despite appearing to miss home plate on the slide. The call on the field was upheld after a video review.
"I don't think people realize that we have families here. There are kids here and sitting in the front row, and you've got bottles whizzing by their heads," Swanson said postgame, according to James Wagner of The New York Times.
