Milwaukee Brewers leftfielder Ryan Braun went from all-star reserve to all-star starter Tuesday when Los Angeles Dodgers centerfielder Matt Kemp was removed from the National League roster because of a hamstring injury. Atlanta third baseman Chipper Jones replaced Kemp on the roster for the game Tuesday in Kansas City. With Kemp out, the first alternate was Braun, who finished third in the balloting by players. The all-star rules say the next player on the players' ballot gets the starting nod. Braun had finished fourth in voting by fans, who determine the starting berths.
