Washington Redskins head coach Jay Gruden says that offensive lineman Brandon Scherff suffered a Grade 2 MCL sprain during the team’s Week 7 loss to the rival Philadelphia Eagles on Monday evening, according to the franchise. Gruden also noted that there is a chance that Scherff could play this coming Sunday against another divisional rival in the heralded Dallas Cowboys. Scherff, who played his collegiate football at Iowa, was originally selected by Washington with the fifth overall pick of the 2015 NFL Draft. Since then, the 25-year-old has played in and started every game since coming into the league, so should he possibly sit out this weekend’s divisional battle against the Cowboys, it would mark the first time Scherff has missed a game in his NFL career.
