The Reds have some injury news on this fine Thursday evening, both of the good and bad variety. On the good side, second baseman Brandon Phillips is going to begin his Triple-A rehab stint Friday, the Louisville Bats (Reds' Triple-A affiliate) announced. Phillips has been sidelined since July 10 with a left thumb injury that required surgery to repair the torn ligament. No timetable has been given for Phillps' return from the minors. On the bad side, starting pitcher Homer Bailey has a flexor mass strain and will be placed on the 15-day disabled list prior to his next scheduled start (Saturday).
