Troy Polamalu and the Pittsburgh Steelers have gone their separate ways following the safety's retirement in 2015. On Tuesday, Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette wrote that there currently isn't a relationship between Polamalu and the Steelers, as one of the greatest players in franchise history has distanced himself from the team that he won two Super Bowls with along with earning the 2010 NFL Defensive Player of the Year Award. Following the 2014 season, reports surfaced that the Steelers were going to release Polmalau if he didn't elect to retire after 12 NFL seasons. After taking several months to mull over his future, Polamalu decided to retire in April of 2015 as opposed to ending his career with a different franchise.
