Yeah, it's Celtics co-owner Wyc Grousbeck's term but Red Sox president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski might make some fireworks of his own the next three days here at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort. Dombrowsk should be focused on adding a power hitter whose personality and offensive style fits the Red Sox and Fenway Park. He should not be focused on trying to keep pace with the Yankees who landed Giancarlo Stanton in a trade Saturday. Stanton will be introduced as a Yankee here at the Winter Meetings today. Right-handed hitting J.D. Martinez -- one of Dombrowski's former players in Detroit -- should be his main target. Is that not enough fireworks? Well, what if Dombrowski signed Martinez, then traded Jackie Bradley Jr. or Rick Porcello for a starting pitcher with a postseason resume? Steven Wright got arrested on domestic assault charges Friday, putting his status for 2018 up in the air.
