Family bragging rights hit the ice Friday when Lightning LW Ryan Malone faced off against first cousin Brad Malone, a center who is in his rookie season with the Avalanche. The pair spent the past couple of summers training together in Minnesota, but Friday marked the first time the two — separated in age by 10 years — faced each other in a game. Ryan's parents — including father Greg, a former NHL player and current pro scout with Tampa Bay — flew in to attend the game. Brad's parents — including father Jim, Greg's brother — also flew in to make Friday a bit of a family reunion. "It's nice for the family to be able to see us out there together and battling," Ryan Malone said. "I'm sure he's going to try and run me just because I know my younger brother tried to run me every time we played against each other, and it's usually the same way, so I'll have to make sure I keep my head up."
Bolts notes: Malone, cousin square off for first time
