The Columbus Blue Jackets have signed Mississauga Steelheads center Luca Del Bel Belluz and Quebec Remparts winger James Malatesta to three-year, entry level contracts, General Manager and Alternate Governor Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.
Del Bel Belluz, 19, was selected by the Blue Jackets in the second round, 44th overall at the 2022 NHL Draft. He has registered 13 goals and 13 assists for 26 points with four penalty minutes, five power play goals, 71 shots and a +1 plus/minus rating in 21 games for Mississauga of the Ontario Hockey League this season. He leads the club in power play goals, ranks second in goals and points and is third-T in assists. The 6-1, 184-pound center started the season with a five-game points streak (3-4-7) and has recorded eight multi-point outings.
