The Tigers were running out of swings and chances, running low on time. Someone had to do something, preferably with a big bat in his hands. The someones arrived in time and on cue, and did what they do. Victor Martinez and Miguel Cabrera felt it — the aches, the pressure — and then they unloaded. Once the Tigers got started, they kept it up, hammering three home runs and beating the Rangers 5-2 Tuesday night to slice their series deficit to 2-1. This is where any comeback must begin — in the clutch, in the heart of the lineup. When the wounded keep dropping, more is expected (required) of the stars. Pitcher Doug Fister was tremendous again, keeping it tight as if the Tigers were waiting for the Cabrera Cavalry to arrive. It finally came, Miggy and Martinez, and when it did, the series was back on.
