The Chicago Blackhawks secured a little of their future Tuesday by signing forward Garret Ross to a three-year contract. Ross was the Hawks' fifth-round selection (139th overall) in the 2012 NHL entry draft and the forward has a big season with the Ontario Hockey League's Saginaw Spirit this season, recording 44 goals and 46 assist in 61 regular-season games. He alwasy led club and ranked 12th in the OHL with 114 penalty minutes. Over four seasons, Ross had 82 goals, 88 assists and 421 penalty minutes in 217 regular-season games with Saginaw and added 17 points and 51 penalty minutes in 34 postseason games.
