The Chicago Blackhawks have activated center Artem Anisimov from injured reserve, according to the team. In a corresponding roster move, the Blackhawks have assigned defenseman Gustav Forsling to the AHL’s Rockford IceHogs. Anisimov was originally placed on injured reserve due to an upper-body injury he suffered against the Vancouver Canucks back on December 28. The 29-year-old has appeared in 36 games this season, scoring 13 goals and handing out five assists while managing a net rating of plus-1 over 617 total minutes on the ice. Anisimov was originally selected by the New York Rangers in the second round (54th overall) of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. He made his incredibly brief NHL debut during the 2008-09 campaign, skating in just one contest. The following season, Anisimov played in all 82 games, finding the back of the net 12 times while also dishing off 16 assists and recording a minus-2 net rating across 1,058 minutes.
