In the NFL, plans change quickly.
Injuries or ineffective play by starters lead to other players getting asked to step up and play a bigger role than previously envisioned by coaching regimes. In 2020, that could end up being the case for Buffalo Bills rookie AJ Epenesa, but head coach Sean McDermott has a plan for the team’s second round pick in a “perfect world.”
McDermott recently appeared on “What’s Next with Eric Wood?” when the former Bills center asked the head coach how he would utilize Epenesa this season.
According to McDermott, Epenesa will be eased onto the field in a backup role. He added that he would like Epenesa to take on multiple roles, but noted how difficult it is for a rookie to learn two positions.
