Oregon Ducks center Kavell Bigby-Williams has asked for, and has been granted, a release to seek transfer from the Oregon basketball team. Bigby-Williams, a 6-foot-10 center, averaged 3 points and 2.8 rebounds and blocked 28 shots in his first season with Oregon after transferring from the junior college ranks. Although Bigby-Williams has been granted his release, a statement from Oregon on Thursday said he has not yet decided whether he will actually transfer. Ducks head coach Dana Altman is currently on the road recruiting. He and Bigby-Williams will meet on Monday upon Altman's return to Eugene. "One of the core elements of our program is that we encourage players to do what they feel is in their best interest, and if Kavell feels he needs to explore other opportunities, we would certainly support that," a UO spokesman said.
