Adam Jones was so excited to be returning to the Cincinnati Bengals that he couldn’t wait for an official announcement. Jones took to Twitter early Thursday to say: “Happy to say this morning that I agreed to a three year deal the Bengals.” Once the deal is official, Jones will become the 10th unrestricted free agent the Bengals have re-signed since free agency began 10 days ago. “Knowing that these guys have been with me through thick and thin, coming off a year out of football, and then playing good football and getting hurt, having surgery and still having trust in me had a lot to do with my decision,” Jones said. “Plus, the city of Cincinnati had a lot to do with it, too. I like it here, I’ve built a great fan base here and I do a lot in the community. “And I’m content. My family is happy. It’s a nice place for us to build a home.” In 2012 Jones played all 16 games for the first time in his career. The former No. 6 overall pick (2005) recorded 43 tackles and ranked as one of the top cover corners by Pro Football Focus.
