The Philadelphia 76ers have ruled out utility man Ben Simmons for Saturday’s game against the Orlando Magic due to an elbow injury, the team has formally announced. Simmons is leading the team in a number of categories, including assists (7.7) and steals (2.1) per game, along with his 51.3 shooting percentage from the floor. The first-year player has already recorded a pair of triple-doubles, and has been within striking distance of posting said performances on numerous occasions this season. Simmons, who is averaging 18.5 points per game in 2017-18, has scored 20 or more points six times this season, including a season-high 27 in Monday’s 107-86 win over the Utah Jazz.
