The Chicago Bears announced Monday that they’ve released linebacker Pernell McPhee and defensive back Quintin Demps. There was recent speculation that McPhee could end up being a cap casualty this offseason, so this doesn’t come as a big surprise. McPhee, 29, is a former fifth-round pick of the Ravens back in 2011. He spent four years in Baltimore before signing a five-year, $38.75 million contract that included $15.5 million guaranteed back in 2015. McPhee was set to make base salaries of $7.2 million and $7.625 million over the next two years.
