The question has been imagined after Bayern Munich was knocked out of the Champions League on away goal (3-3 aggregate) by Paris Saint-Germain: was that Hansi Flick’s last Champions League match as Bayern manager? Ever since Joachim Low announced he would be stepping down from his post as German National team manager after this summer’s European Championship, Flick’s name has been mentioned as a top candidate to replace him. Unlike Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp, he’s yet to outright say ‘no’ to potentially becoming the next Die Mannschaft manager and rumors suggest he wants to replace Low and that Bayern would want to replace Flick with RB Leipzig manager Julian Nagelsmann.

Per the latest edition of Sport Bild, it’s understood that there haven’t been any concrete talks between Bayern and Nagelsmann as of yet, despite suggestions that there had been. Instead, there have only been discussions between representatives from Bayern and Sports360 GMBH, which is the agency that represents both Nagelsmann and Dayot Upamecano.
