Celtics coach Doc Rivers noted the Miami Heat helped off of Ray Allen in their 93-79 win over his team in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals Monday, something opponents have rarely done during the career of the NBA's most prolific 3-point shooter. The Heat disagreed with Rivers' assessment. "We guarded Ray. Our team defense is to guard him," Miami's Dwyane Wade said yesterday. "When he's running off screens, we try to lock-and-trail and we try to have our bigs help. When it's our time to help, we try to help off of him because we have a system. We have to stay true to our system. It's never ideal because Ray Allen is always live for us and he's always a guy who we put a lot of emphasis on."
