Just spoke to Hall of Famer Barry Larkin. He has not heard from the Reds about the manager opening. He would be interested if the club calls. “I’d certainly talk to them” he said. Larkin managed the Brazilian team in the World Baseball Classic this spring. “I really enjoyed that” he said. “I would like to manage a team with more talent someday. I think I would enjoy that.” Larkin works for ESPN and also does work for Major League Baseball from time to time. The fact that no other names have surfaced makes me think that Bryan Price is very likely to get the job. Reds general manager Walt Jocketty and owner Bob Castellini will be in Arizona later this week. That’s where Price lives. I can see them interviewing him there.
