Barcelona thought they were onto a winner when they signed Antoine Griezmann. However, nearly a year on, and the France international’s time at the Nou Camp looks to be over already. And that could pave the way for Arsenal or Inter Milan to secure his signature when the transfer window reopens.

Barcelona chose to forgive and forget when it came to signing Griezmann a year ago.

They’d actually hoped to snap him up in the summer transfer window of 2018, only for him to controversially decide to stay at Atletico - announcing his decision in a cringe-worthy video.

Barcelona players wanted the club’s hierarchy to go after Neymar when the transfer window reopened, despite the Samba star controversially leaving in 2017.

But, instead, they chose Griezmann.

In the board’s eyes, he was the missing piece of the jigsaw. A player with the potential to propel them to a first Champions League triumph since 2015, when Luis Enrique was manager.

However, that hasn’t worked out.

Griezmann has scored just eight goals from 32 La Liga matches this term, contributing four assists along the way as well.

And, against former club Atletico Madrid on Tuesday night, his time at Barcelona stooped to an all-time low.

With the La Liga champions needing a win to boost their chances of title glory, they only decided to throw on their £100million recruit with two minutes to go.
