Long-term Bayern Munich defender David Alaba will leave the Bavarian club at the end of this season. The fact that Bayern and Alaba didn’t reach an agreement for a contract extension was well documented, as the Austrian stated publicly that he is going to leave his boyhood club. Now, the only thing that is not clear is where Alaba will continue his career.
The latest report from Spain indicates that FC Barcelona and David Alaba have reached a verbal agreement. Mundo Deportivo suggests that Alaba won’t join Real Madrid and that the new president, Joan Laporta, will make sure to bring the Austrian defender to Camp Nou.
Mundo Deportivo also reports that Alaba’s agent, Pini Zahavi was in Barcelona last Thursday and that Laporta and Zahavi have met and already discussed the potential move.
