On Thursday night, Baker Mayfield was busy putting a beatdown on the Washington Redskins in his first preseason game of the 2019 campaign.

Mayfield completed 6-of-7 passing for 77 yards and a touchdown before leaving after the first series.

However, despite his success on the field Thursday night, his name is in the headlines for something different. In a recent appearance on the Pardon My Take podcast, Mayfield called out the Big 12 for a recent decision.

At Big 12 Media Days, Coordinator of Officials Greg Burks revealed that the “Horns Down” motion will lead to a penalty if directed at Texas fans, players or coaches for an extended period of time.
