Colorado Avalanche beat the Arizona Coyotes 6-2 on Saturday, but it could turn out to be a costly victory. Defenceman Tyson Barrie blocked a shot in the first period and suffered a fracture in his right hand, the team confirmed. The severity of the injury and specific location of the fracture wasn’t immediately unknown and Avalanche head coach Jared Bednar did not have an update for reporters following the game. According to Avalanche beat reporter Adrian Dater of BSN Denver, “Barrie has a broken bone in his right hand, believed to be in the space between his thumb and forefinger.”
