The Colorado Avalanche Hockey Club announced today that the team has acquired forward Mikhail Maltsev and a second-round selection (No. 61 overall, originally New York Islanders) in the 2021 NHL Draft from the New Jersey Devils in exchange for defenseman Ryan Graves .

Maltsev, 23, completed his rookie season with the Devils in 2020-21, finishing with nine points (6g/3a) in 33 contests. He made his NHL debut on Jan. 31, 2021 at Buffalo and recorded his first NHL goal and point in his second career appearance on Feb. 16 at the New York Rangers.

The 6-foot-3, 198-pound left wing was loaned to the KHL's SKA St. Petersburg to begin the 2020-21 campaign and recorded one point (0g/1a) in four games before eventually joining New Jersey for training camp. He also skated in one game for the Devils' American Hockey League affiliate, the Binghamton Devils, recording one point (1g/0a).
