The newest addition to Rutgers basketball has become official as the school announced early this evening that Aundre Hyatt has been added to the program. Hyatt will have three years of eligibility remaining after spending the last three years at LSU, one of which was a redshirt season. Hyatt started a total of 17 games, 16 of which came last season.
"We are thrilled to officially welcome Aundre Hyatt to the Rutgers Basketball family," head coach Steve Pikiell said in a statement per Rutgers communications. "Aundre is a versatile and talented player who is fired up to come back to his home area and help Rutgers Basketball continue our ascension in the Big Ten Conference. His multi-positional skillset is a perfect fit for our playing style and his experience competing and winning at a high level for one of the top programs in the SEC will be a great addition to our locker room. Off the court, Aundre is a mature and focused student-athlete who prioritizes academics and community relations. Aundre is a young man that Rutgers Nation will love both on and off the court."
Hyatt was recruited heavily by Rutgers as a high school prospect out of the Miller School in Charlottesville, Va.
