Auburn forward Chuma Okeke announced he will declare for the NBA Draft, per a post on his Instagram page. He did not announce whether or not he has hired an agent.

“After talking with my family, Coach Pearl and the entire staff at Auburn, I have decided to declare for the 2019 NBA Draft,” Okeke said in a press release. “I want to thank God, my family, my coaches and teammates, and the entire Auburn family for their continued support these past two seasons.”

Okeke tore his ACL during Auburn’s Sweet 16 win over North Carolina, so he will be unable to actually compete in pre-draft events such as the NBA Combine. He won’t be able to do normal workouts for NBA teams hoping to evaluate him.

It was a special sophomore season for Okeke, who averaged 12 points and 6.8 rebounds. He recored 69 steals, which was the third-most ever by an AU player in a season. He played his best toward the end of the season, and even had 20 points and 11 rebounds in that UNC game when he was injured with more than eight minutes to play.
