Kerryon Johnson suffered a minor ankle injury in the first quarter of the A-Day spring game Saturday and was in a walking boot following the contest. SEC Network broadcasters confirmed during the game that the junior-to-be tailback suffered a high ankle sprain after a 17-yard reception over the middle where he was tackled by reserve middle linebacker Richard McBride. “It was the last drive I was supposed to be in,” Johnson said after the game. “It’s unfortunate, but it’s football and it happens. There’s nothing I can do about that.” Before the injury, Johnson finished with 47 yards on seven carries including a 4-yard touchdown run on the opening possession of the first-string offense Saturday afternoon.
