The Astros trimmed the spring training roster to 39 players on Sunday morning, sending 10 players down. Five were optioned and the other five were re-assigned. Che-Hsuan Lin, Carlos Perez, C.J. Fick, Josh Zeid, Sergio Escalona were re-assigned to minor-league camp. Robbie Grossman, Jimmy Paredes, Jonathan Villar, Paul Clemens, and Dallas Keuchel were optioned to ML camp. “We open up two weeks from today,” general manager Jeff Luhnow said. “Even though it’s a long spring training it feels like it’s gone very quickly. We’ve got a lot of work to do here. So we’re down to 39 players. We still have some work to do.
