All-Star shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera walked past Kenny Lofton and into the Indians' locker room Friday morning. Lofton, in camp as a spring-training instructor, stopped Cabrera and said, "Man, you look good. Last year at this time I wasn't so sure." Cabrera, trimmer than he's been the last couple of springs, smiled, shook his head and said, "Everybody's got to talk smack." Lofton was right, Cabrera does look good. He wouldn't say how much weight he's lost, or how much he weighs, but he's noticeably lighter. "I know I've lost some weight, but I'm not sure how much," said Cabrera. "I'm not worried about it. My body feels really good right now." Cabrera spent the winter working out in Florida where he owns a home. He played 11 games in Venezuela for Caracas before reporting to Goodyear. On March 2, he'll return to Miami to train with Team Venezuela for the World Baseball Classic. "We'll be in Miami for three days and then fly to Puerto Rico for the tournament," said Cabrera. "I'm excited to wear my country's jersey. People in Venezuela have been talking about it all year. They want to see all the players from Venezuela who play in the United States play in the series on the same team."
