The A’s have found success with Cuban players in the past with sluggers such as Yoenis Cespedes and Jose Canseco, and they went back there in search of outfield help. The club announced Monday it has signed 24-year-old outfielder Dairon Blanco as an international free agent. Terms of the contract are unknown. Blanco played four seasons in the Cuban professional league from 2012-16, hitting .303 with 52 stolen bases in 809 at-bats. He left Cuba after the 2015-16 season to pursue a career in the big leagues.
