Mikel Arteta has revealed that Arsenal are ready to open up talks with Alexandre Lacazette over a new contract.

The Gunners have announced a spate of new deals in recent weeks with Gabriel Martinelli, Buyako Saka, Cedric Soares, Pablo Mari, and David Luiz all signing on the dotted line.

Talisman Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is also in negotiations to remain at the Emirates, and now Lacazette is being lined-up with a new agreement.

The French striker, who arrived from Lyon in 2017, is out of contract at the end of the 2021/22 season - but the Gunners have a policy about allowing players to head into the last 12 months of a deal.

And Arteta has admitted that talks are ready to get kick-started to extend Lacazette's stay in north London.
